On Friday, November 21 at 6:00 pm we would like to invite you to meet dr. Andzej Karkoszka, the former vice minister of national defense involved in integrating Poland into NATO, restructuring the Polish military, and co-author of the plan to reform the defense policy of Poland. He will give a lecture entitled "International security - the view from Warsaw".

Join us for Havdalah Saturday, November 22 at 5:00 pm. Afterwards, we will be showing "More than 1000 words", a documentary film about award-winning Israeli photojournalist Ziv Koren. The movie's director, Solo Avital, followed him around with a camera for two years. Avital filmed him as he was witness to terror attacks, secret meetings with Palestinians, and military actions by the Israeli army. The World Press Photo foundation considers Koren to be one of the most important photojournalists of the second half of the last century. His work has been published in the New York Times, The New Yorker, Newsweek, Der Spiegel, Le Figaro and El Pais. The film is mostly in Hebrew with Polish subtitles.

On Thursday, November 27th, we would like to invite you to another concert in the "White Philharmonic" series. At 7:30 pm we will listen

Elizabeth Mucha - Piano

They will perform works by Mozart, Schubert and Lutoslawski. Admission is free.

We are happy to inform you that a new Jewish Calendar for the year 5769 is still available in the Beit Warszawa office at a cost of 25 zloty. Illustrated with pictures by Chris Schwarz of Galicja Jewish Museum, the calendar gives the hours of beginning and ending of Shabbat and festivals for Warsaw, Cracow, Lodz, Wroclaw and Budapest.
